My name is Shelly Ward; I was born and raised right here in Delaware. My husband, Chris, and I have two adult children and two grandsons. Our son and daughter are both married and brought in another son and daughter to the family.
I have always loved working with children. My mom had a home daycare all my childhood, that is when I got my love for children. As a mother and a grandmother, I know that is hard to leave our babies with other’s. I want all the children to feel that they are going to a home away from home. I want all the parents to know that we are a family and that their babies will be treated as our own. I have been working with children for approximately 25 years. I have been in all facets of the childcare setting, such as, Infant to School-age, Administration and even the cook. I received my Associates of Arts from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in the field of Early Childhood Education. I currently am attending school to get my Associates in Early Childhood Education. I am a huge advocate of continuing education. You can never learn enough about children. Although I have many years’ experience, I am always learning more and more in the Education field.
I believe teaching should be enjoyable and fun for the child and the teacher. It is important to understand each child as an individual, we all learn different.
My future development plan is to continue loving children and teaching them as well as continuing to learn myself.
Hi, my name is Brittany Hood. I was born and raised in Delaware. My husband and I traveled for a few years while he was in the Army. We were stationed in South Korea and Oklahoma, then made our way back home to Ohio. We have two sons, Brennen (8) and Cason (3).I have always enjoyed working with children. With my in home childcare and working at a center I have about 10 years experience. I love to watch the children grow and learn; after they leave my classroom I still connect with them throughout their time with us.I am planning to go back to school to get my CDA or Associates in Early Childhood Education. I believe that teaching should be what is best for each individual child. We all learn differently therefore we should teach each child accordingly.
